About the Artist

Hello! My name is Christa, and I'm an artist based in the Pacific Northwest. In early 2019, I set off on a wild adventure to embrace being a full-time artist. I've been doodling in margins I'm not supposed to and writing stories in my head for as long as I can remember. The drive to create new worlds has always pulled me in a way that nothing else has.

Much of the inspiration for my work is derived from nature. I especially like to design new creatures or illustrate gentle scenes from the wilderness. Some common intended themes in my artwork are ecology, coziness, whimsy, and an overall sense of adventure. My goal is to create illustrations that instill feelings of wonder and openness with nature. That feeling you get when you are sitting in a warm house looking out at the snow, or seeing a seed you've planted sprout leaves for the first time.. those feelings are what I hope to recreate with my artwork.

I am currently managing an online storefront, providing content for Patreon, and working on personal projects. As of 2019, I am working on a long-term world-building project called Tales of Pollinedraak. This story is heavy with themes of environmental stewardship, and it’s centered around the idea of non-human communities reacting to ecological shifts. Behind-the-scenes content for this world is routinely released to Patreon supporters in the form of sketches and blog posts, so please be sure to check out that link in the Navigation if you’re interested! A book of sketches for Tales of Pollinedraak will be ready in 2020. This world will be revealed in multiple installments through books of illustrations, sketches, and writing.

Outside of personal work, I would love to provide creative assistance with stories, brands, and games. Talk to me about your ideas and what inspires you. I work to turn vibrant new ideas into lively creations.

When I’m not scribbling, I love baking, animated films, gardening, hiking, collecting new teas, and my best cat friend.
